Turning surplus land into family homes.

Twenty eight single family townhomes serve families with incomes up to 80% of San Francisco's area medium income. Located on a formerly surplus CalTrans right of way adjacent to Interstate Highway 280 in the Oceanview District of San Francisco, the 1 acre lot includes a new private road using permeable paving. Three prototypical designs were developed for subdivided lots ranging between 18 ft. and 22 ft. wide and between 816 and 1000 square feet in area. Great care was taken to ensure acoustical separation from highway noise. Each solar powered home, ranging in living area between 1450 and 1550 square feet, consists of either two bedrooms with one and one half baths or three bedrooms with two baths, all with a private yard.
